First Soccer Practice and Game

Brianna and Bailey are both playing soccer this year. It is a first for both girls and we are enjoying watching them grow and learn. They had their first game today. Brianna scored the one and only goal for her team!! She was great at turning the ball to get it down the field toward their goal. She was really determined and she got the Offense star at the end of the game. Bailey had been having some problems with being bored at her recent practices so we weren't sure how she was going to do in her game today. But to everyone's surprise, she was awesome! She was enthusiastic, she waved to us every time she ran by, she had a smile on her face the entire time and she kept up with the other players. She ran and when she got knocked down, she brushed herself off, showed us her boo boo then got right back out there to play. She was good at kicking the ball even if she did try to kick it in the wrong goal! When the game was over, Bailey got the Sportsmanship star! Bailey's jersey number is 6 and Brianna's jersey number is 2. Bailey is on the Chargers team and Brianna is on the Galaxy team. Surprise 25th Anniversary Party

The kids and grand-kids of Ricky and Dale Huett threw them a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party on August 14th. I think they were surprised and we had a great turn out. We also had some relatives travel in from Virginia for the surprise! I attempted to make the cake and with some guidance from my Mother, I think I did pretty well for my first try. Overall I think the party was a success and it was great to get the family together.

First Day of School 2010

This August, Brianna started second grade and Bailey started Pre-K. I was going to home school Bailey because the public school where Brianna attends was full. Then 3 days before school started, we got the phone call that a spot had opened up at the child development center down the street from the public school. We didn't have much time to prepare, but luckily, it all turned out alright. Both girls had a great first day and have been enjoying school ever since!

Richard and Amanda's wedding

On August 6th, we attended my cousin Richard's wedding. Brianna ended up being the flower girl. She also caught the wedding bouquet! We had a great time and luckily the girls were very well behaved. We were very honored to be in attendance at the wedding and are happy to welcome Amanda into the family! (Sorry for the red eyes in the pictures)
