End of August

As August comes to an end I wanted to update the site with what else has been going on with the family this month. And of course to share some pictures. We were so happy to have Wesley come home for a visit. While he was here, he was able to see both of the girls riding their bikes. Brianna, who has never had training wheels, rode a bike within minutes of first getting up. Brianna has started cheerleading and will start cheering at games in early October. If you want her schedule let me know. The girls and I took a trip to Lawrenceville to celebrate (the girl's Great-Grandmother) my Grandmother's 90th birthday! The girls had a great time visiting with family and eating cake and Grandmommy (Great-Mommy) enjoyed seeing her "little darlings" (big and small). We also took time to go to the Marietta Square where the girls played on the train and as a special treat were able to take a ride on the horse drawn carriage. We all had a great time on the carriage ride. The girls were so excited that they pretended to be horses the rest of the night. Galloping around the town. Don't forget to check out the video below of Bailey singing the song from the book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom".

Bailey helping daddy fix the training wheels. She loved using daddy's tools.

What I like about this picture is Brianna flying by in the background. Her dress flowing in the breeze as she rides around.

There she goes!

Brianna's first day of First Grade!

We visited Brianna's school last night for orientation. We were able to meet her new teacher and Brianna had a chance to see her new classroom and where she was going to sit. She was so excited to be back in school. She was buzzing all around the classroom. Coincidentally, there is another girl in her classroom whose name is Brianna (spelled the same way too) and they sit at the same table! I wonder how the teacher will tell them apart? After we met with her teacher, we were treated to free Bruster's Ice Cream in the cafeteria. While eating our sprinkle covered ice cream, Brianna told me "I think tomorrow is going to be the best day ever!". I only hoped it would be. So we went back home, got to bed early and woke up bright and early this morning. Brianna was off to a great start. She got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, brushed her teeth and hair, all in record speed. So fast in fact that we were ready an hour early! So about 30 minutes before the bus was set to arrive, we headed outside to take a few pictures and wait for the bus. Brianna could hardly contain herself. So I got a few pictures of her and her new Transformers book bag and then we waited. And waited. And waited. 54 minutes later, and luckily with a still happy and excited First Grader, the bus pulled up! The sweet lady bus driver apologized and said that her bus had broken down and she had to get a new one. Poor lady. I was just glad Brianna was still in a great mood. Brianna ran across the street, sat down in a seat and waved to me from the bus. Her cousin Reece waited for Brianna to get home all day. He stood outside waiting for her for over an hour. When her bus finally dropped her off, Reece was there to greet Brianna with a big hug. I asked Brianna how her day was and she told me that it was the best day ever!

Sorry the picture is a little grainy, I used the wrong setting on the camera and well, not wanting to miss the moment, I didn't stop to change it.

She loves her Transformers book bag!

Running to catch the bus.

She was all smiles!!!

Reece waiting for Brianna to get home.

Brianna FINALLY home from a long school day. She is running with arms wide open ready to give us all a hug!!!

Our trip to Florida

We recently spent a few days in Orlando, Florida with Wesley's Mom, Sister and her three boys. With 5 children in one car; it was a wild time to say the least. Here are a few pictures from the trip. As you can see from the resort photos, it rained on our trip....a lot! Luckily we found a way to spend some time in the pool and the kids got a chance to get out of the room every now and then.

The rainy days at the resort.

The sun comes out momentarily and we grab the opportunity for some pool time!

The kids missed the great peach state!

Fun times in July 2009

Here are some random pictures of the kids having fun in the summer.

Bailey hiding in the van.

Bailey sticking her tongue out instead of smiling! As usual.

Bailey trying to drive the van.

These are a few shots from when we visited GreatMommy.

The girls had a blast playing with the sprinkler. They took turns spraying each other.

Bailey climbing on the soft play place at the mall. You can see Grandma Sears in the background.

Brianna showing her serious side and Bailey finally smiling. (though not looking at the camera)

This is a picture of the girls with their cousins, Reece, Aidan and Carter.

Bailey well.....you know the drill.

Brianna and Bailey playing dress up and doing ballet. As you can see Brianna was more into having her picture taken than Bailey.

From Maryland to Georgia

Before we left Maryland, we spent one weekend in D.C. We visited the Museum of Natural History, took a ride on the Carousel on the Mall, and spent some time with the animals at the D.C. Zoo. Once we got to Georgia, we spent some time in Marietta where we celebrated the 4th of July. We watched the parade at the Marietta square in the morning, then we had a BBQ and finally fireworks.
