This month we went to our first Build and Grow event at Lowe's. The girls got wooden kits, nails, aprons, a hammer and a badge and certificate for completion. I was really surprised at how well they both did hammering the nails and building a frame. Since then we have been back to make a monster truck and we hope to continue going as often as we can. I really enjoyed watching the kids learning and seeing how incredibly smart they are!
On the way to Lowe's.
Brianna in her apron.
Bailey hammering away, deep in concentration.
The finished products! Amazing!
The girls are signed up for soccer! This will be a first for both of them. We are all very excited to start practices in August. So of course we had to get them both a new soccer ball for home practices. Brianna got a pink ball and Bailey got a green ball. Needless to say, they LOVED them.
All decked out in their new gear, ready to start practice!

Bailey is 4! Correction 2+2=4!
For a long time leading up to her 4th birthday, Bailey refused to be 4 years old. Actually when she turned 3 she still wanted to be 2. Poor girl has been denying her age for years now. A few weeks before she turned 4 I told her that 2 plus 2 equals 4. And like magic she was OK with being 4 just as long as I said, 2+2=4. So finally she is fessing up to being her real age of 4 years old. So, this year instead of having a number candle on her cake we had the bakery write 2+2=4 on her double decker cookie cake!
We ended up having a Kai Lan birthday theme this year even though Bailey was set on having a Super Mario Brothers theme (I just couldn't have a boy theme for my girly girl). But I think the party went off without a hitch. The girls dressed in their authentic Asian outfits, we had Kai Lan decorations, lots of different Chinese food and Chinese take out boxes for party favors. We had a delicious "Ladybug Festival" cake and cupcakes and a double decker cookie cake with green icing. (Bailey's favorite color)

The ONLY pink and the smallest Mario shirt we could find. It is now a night gown. She wants to wear it every night.

Spring 2010
The family had a wonderful Easter this year. The Easter bunny came to visit Brianna and Bailey and left lots of yummy treats and toys.
The girls are always telling Wesley and I how much they want a pet. But due to allergies and other factors it just isn't possible. However, we came to an agreement and added 8 tiny pets to our family. 2 neon pink, 2 neon orange, 2 neon yellow/Green and 2 neon blue and red fish. Though tiny, the kids are very happy to finally experience having a pet.
Here are some photos of the girl's cousin Madison's birthday party. Notice how Bailey is eyeballing that cake! Her faces are priceless!
For one of the girls' Easter excursions, we visited the Willinghams in Albany and had an Easter egg hunt. Here is the crazy gang.
We stopped by Srtiplings on the way home to visit the pink pig!
In April we took a trip to Massee Lane Gardnes in Fort Valley with the girl's cousin Madison and Grandma Gwen. The girls loved running through the Secret Garden like trails and looking at all the beautiful flowers.
The last of the Easter activites was the Easter egg hunt at the Arnold's. Unfortunately Brianna wasn't feeling very well so I had to stay behind to take care of her. Luckily Wesley was able to take Bailey and she had a great time visiting and hunting Easter eggs with her many cousins.
Bailey loves to get Mario movies from the RedBox!
